Don’t Set Foot On The Pegasus
The first thing an O-teamer will inform you of during a UCF orientation is not to walk on the Pegasus symbol in the Student Union.
The tradition is steeped in respect and superstition. Not stepping on the Pegasus promotes UCF pride and sets a tradition. The superstition among UCF students is that if you step on the Pegasus, you will not graduate.
Occasionally it’s roped off to promote this tradition, but many times you will see a crowd completely skirt around the Pegasus to avoid walking over it.
So, even if you don’t believe in superstitions, don’t step on the Pegasus the few times it is not roped off. Not treading on the Pegasus will show both respect and pride for your university.
